The first issue of the newspaper ›Daily Resistance‹ is now out!

It is a newspaper published and written by people, so-called refugees, who don’t accept their disfranchisement by the German state. They write about their fight and share their opinions to reach out to people who are in the same situation.

It will be published monthly. Read the Newspaper-PDF. (You can find the print version here)

The authors and publishers are actively fighting against the criminal German state and the establishment suiting themselves. You can join and contribute to the newspaper as an author or join as translater, lecturer, editor, photographer, distributer, … get in contact with us: dailyresistance@oplatz.net

For now, there are 2000 copies waiting to be distributed throughout the lagers of Berlin and other places where newcomers can be reached. 300 copies will go to Munich, others to Göttingen, Cologne, Würzburg, …

Story by Dawid Krawczyk of Krytyka Polityczna on the Refugee Movement Berlin: “Not everything works out as planned”

On Ohlauer Strasse in Berlin there is a building that once housed a co-educational high school. Later it stood empty. Now refugees live in it. Behind a gate with two guards, under constant surveillance.

‘No, no! You can’t take photos here. Outside the bars you can,’ I hear a few seconds after I decide to enter the school area. Alongside the guards I also see a smiling man coming towards me. He wears a winter cap and a light down jacket. His name is Alnour Ahmad-Hassan, a resident of the school. He calms the guard down.

‘Okay, let’s get out of here. At the corner there is a café. We can sit there and talk in peace,’ Alnour suggests.

‘So this is how it is here now?’ I ask, surprised.

‘Yes, more or less. You see, they are isolating us here completely.’

8. Woche (7. Dezember 2015 – 13. Dezember 2015)
Nachdem die Presse nach langem Ausschluss endlich Zutritt zu den Hangars des ehemaligen Tempelhofer Flughafens bekommen hat, wird die dortige Situation auch in der ARD und im ZDF thematisiert. In der Sendung vom 8. Dezember 2015 berichtet Frontal 21 über die Lager im ehemaligen Flughafen Tempelhof. (http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/beitrag/video/2622342/Fluechtlingskinder-ohne-Perspektive?setTime=5.231#/beitrag/video/2622342/Fluechtlingskinder-ohne-Perspektive) Zwar fanden die Journalist_innen einen „Zustand, den keiner lange Aushält“ vor, doch wisse „das [.] auch der Leiter der Notunterkunft Michael Elias“. Immerhin wird ein Zusammenhang zwischen den Zuständen und der „Massenschlägerei“, die ein sehr breites mediales Echo gefunden hatte, hergestellt. Elias führt dieses Ereignis auf eine kleinere Auseinandersetzung bei der Essensausgabe zurück, woraufhin „junge Männer“ ihren Frust abgelassen hätten. Im Widerspruch zu Äußerungen von Bewohner_innen (siehe 6. Woche) verlegt Elias die Ursache in die „jungen Männer“. Die schlimmen Zustände werden in diesem Beitrag eher leise angeprangert. Elias schiebt die Schuld auf die staatlichen Behörden und die Kamera folgt verständnisvoll.

Am 10. Dezember 2015 berichtet die ARD in der 20-Uhr-Tagesschau und in einem Text auf ihrer Internetpräsenz über die Lager. (https://www.tagesschau.de/inland/reportage-fluechtlinge-117.html) „Ein bisschen Adventsstimmung, für mehr ist kein Platz“ – im Video ist der Ton deutlich schärfer als bei Frontal 21. Mit den Worten von Bewohner_innen wird über einen „furchtbaren Ort“ berichtet. Der wohlorganisierte Pressetermin stößt auf Skepsis:
„Zwischen den Zeltreihen in Hangar 1 liegen Matten mit Spielzeug ausgebreitet. Ein Mann vom Kinderzirkus Cabuwazi lässt kleine Jungen auf Gymnastikbällen balancieren. Ziemlich beeindruckend – doch ist das alles nur für den Pressetermin inszeniert? Wenige Tage zuvor saßen die Flüchtlinge noch beschäftigungslos in den Hangars herum.“

Am 09.10.2015 wurde unser Bruder und Freund Hikmet Prizreni verhaftet und ihm droht die Abschiebung!

Als Hikmet seinen Bruder Kefaet zu einem Amtsbesuch begleitete, bat ihn die Sachbearbeiterin kurz vor der Tür zu warten und verständigte insgeheim die Polizei. Hikmet wurde daraufhin wegen eines nichtigen Haftbefehls von den Polizeibeamten abgeführt. In einem Blitzverfahren wurde Hikmet dem Haftrichter vorgeführt , und befindet zur in Untersuchungshaft.

Da er lediglich in diesem Land geduldet ist, droht ihm nun die Abschiebung in den Kosovo. Ein Land welches er nicht kennt und in dem er als Roma Diskriminierungen und Gewalt ausgesetzt ist. Hikmet vielen auch bekannt als Künstler Prince-H, engagiert sich mit seiner Musik und Tatkraft und tritt auf kulturellen und menschenrechtlichen Veranstaltungen auf. Wir kennen ihn als humorvollen Querdenker, der zum friedlichen Miteinander, ohne Diskriminierung und Ausgrenzung anderer Kulturen aufruft!

Hinter jeder Abschiebung steckt auch immer ein Mensch! In diesem Fall ist es Hikmet Prizreni. Lassen Sie uns gemeinsam gegen die Abschiebung von Hikmet die Stimme erheben, und fordern daher FREIHEIT und Bleiberecht Für HIKMET P. aka Prince-H !!!!

Start of the Basketball Beats Community Season (U12 / U14)

The season begins this weekend and it should be rather interesting.
We have some good teams and dedicated coaches. This Sunday the 20th we have two home games. U 12 game starts at 10, the u 14 game starts at 12

We plan to take a group  photo after the u 14 game

1.) Please let us know, how many people are coming from your city, if possible, before August, 14th. In your announcement, please also let us know, what kind of sleeping facilities you prefer (single-rooms or if a big room is possible, too), if you bring kids with you (for the calculation of the child care needed) and what languages you can speak/understand.

Review of the situation concerning…

…translators: Up to now we have translators to Arabic, to French, to Portuguese, to Farsi and to some other languages, each to English or German. If you can bring any translators of yourself, feel free!

…sleeping places: We can offer a limited number of single apartments for families/women and a larger number of group-facilities.

Nevertheless, if you have any contacts to people in Hanover, also ask them for possibilities to sleep. Please bring sleeping bags and camping mats with you!

…child care: Child care is organised by a qualified group of social workers and is available during all meeting-times.

…food: Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be prepared at Kornstraße.

2.) Important information / Preparation

– Arrival is possible on friday starting at 2pm, we recommend to arrive before 6 pm 18.00, as at 7pm the first meeting will take place (see timetable below).

IMPORTANT: If you have any problems during your journey (e.g. with residential obligation (so called “Residenzpflicht”), racial profiling or other police controls), we have a lawyer to provide legal support. We will soon send around an emergency number.

– On friday we plan to start the conference with an introduction of participants. If you want, please prepare a short introduction (app. 10 minutes) for your your group/city.

– We plan to arrange an info point to collect information of all cities and organisations participating. If you have any info material, flyers,… please bring them with you (maybe 100-200 copies).

– A large part of saturday´s program will be used for workshops. You can see the different topics planned in the timetable below. If you have any interest to plan, prepare and moderate a workshop for one topic, please let us know! The only topics that are already assigned are “Preventing deportations” and “Women Space”.

Friday:

– Starting at 2pm: Arrival at Kornstraße possible / Registration at the Info Point

– 6pm: Dinner

– 7pm: Presentation/introduction of the different groups

– app. 9pm: Concert of S.P. Music, band of Refugee Protest Camp Hanover, and other musicians

Saturday:

– Starting at 8.30am: Breakfast in UJZ Korn.

– 10am-10.30am: Presentation of the different groups (summary of friday for all newcomers)

– 10.30-11.15: Rex Osa (tbc) on „Refugee Rights“

– 11.15pm-12.00: „The Importance of self-organisation of Refugee Women“

Introduction of different organisations: „The Crocodile – Refugee Women against FGM“, „Women in exile“,…

– 12 – 1pm: Sebastian Rose from „Flüchtlingsrat Niedersachsen“ on „Legal conditions of Refugees (Dublin, right to stay,…) in the context of the new asylum law“

– 1pm-2pm: Mona Balsters from „Refugee Bureau Kargah“ on „Problems and possibilities of refugees in their legal situation“

– 2pm-3pm: Lunch break

– 3pm-7pm: Workshop period //

– 10am-2pm: Presentation to the plenary of the conclusions/strategies/results of the workshops (each max. 30 minutes)

– 3pm-app. 5pm: Final plenary: summary, conclusion, feedback, how to go on.

– 5pm: Departure

State of emergency in Lageso in Moabit

Hundred of refugees wait in Turmstraße (Moabit) for their permission documents to an accommodation place. The people are told to do not leave the waiting queue – they must stay there all the time, including their children. Water and food supply is low, it lacks water bottles (there is only one water tap while temperatures rise to 40 degrees today), umbrellas and stuff for shade, also snacks like fruits. What is more, there is need of people who feel able to coordinate actions and supply.

Am Berliner Landesamt für Gesundheit und Soziales (Lageso) in der Turmstraße (Moabit) gibt es gegenwärtig einen Notstand: Dort warten seit Tagen hunderte Refugees in der prallen Sonne auf Wartenummern/Papiere/Unterkunft/? und das #Lageso kriegt es nicht hin, eine vernünftige Wasser- oder Lebensmittelversorgung aufrecht zu erhalten, von Schattenplätzen ganz zu schweigen. Dazu wird den Leuten, sie sollen die Warteschlange auch mit ihren Kindern nicht verlassen.

Heute sind es 40 Grad, es fehlen laut Leuten vor Ort neben Wasser in Flaschen, auch Getränkebehälter (es gibt nur 1 Wasserhahn), Schattenspender (Sonnen oder Regenschirme, Sonnensegel etc.) und Obst/Snacks. Und mehr Leute, die dort koordinieren.
