For about 2 years now in Frauenhof, we refugees from Ukrain and Cheychenia have been living together as family community in Konradsreuth with the status of asylum applicant refugees. We support one another through social cultural exchange in our daily relationship.

Since then, many more refugees have been transferred here to live in the village of Konradsreuth and in other districts of Hof, therefore we think it is time to widen our network and community.

It is our belief in human dignity that motivates us to propose an active and independent platform of refugee community to advance our unity for fundamental human rights, for freedom and for the well-being of refugees.

This essay traces the current debate about refugees in Germany by contrasting Germany’s recent history of racist violence and limitations of asylum laws with the resistance and agency of refugee movements across Germany. Dear all,
we would like to revive the Oplatz as soon as possible and organize the construction of a boat-like-infopoint-building – to be present and visible again as a refugee movement and to have a safe space for refugee-/activists to meet, get informed, get involved in political action. As you can read in the last protocols from Sunday’s open plenum, the decision for this construction was taken by refugees on September 20th 2015.

In order to get such a boat-like-oplatz-building we need a big political campaign.

For this we need a lot of support!

Do you have experiences with politicial campaigns? With finances? With project management? Do you have big networks you can activate to support? Would you contribute to the publicity of the campaign with an event? Would you just like to be part of it?

Hello everybody,

we invite initiatives and individuals to our open meeting tomorrow, Monday October the 5th, at 7PM, at Mehringhof, Gneisenaustraße 2a, in Berlin Kreuzberg. We want to discuss about the question, what comes after the big wave of solidarity shown in the last weeks by the civil society and how it can be transformed in some kind of political movement. We want to talk about the politics and the bad laws made by the german government in the meantime and why the refugees are not asked in the big german public discussion. To give a little input, there will be several persons of different initiatives on the podium. English, french and arabic translation will be provided.

Flüchtlingen helfen und dann?

Eine Diskussionsveranstaltung am 05.10.2015 um 19 Uhr im Mehringhof, Gneisenaustraße 2a, Berlin Kreuzberg. Tausende helfen. Tausende machen mit. Tausende zeigen praktische Solidarität gegenüber Geflüchteten. Sie sortieren Kleiderspenden und verteilen Lebensmittel. #refugeeswelcome heißt es in der Bevölkerung, auch wenn man dabei nicht vergessen darf, dass es auf der anderen Seite immer noch genug Rassistinnen und Rassisten gibt, die den Geflüchteten lieber mit Hass statt mit Luftballons begegnen. Ein Blick in die sozialen Medien liefert den nötigen Realitätscheck. Doch was bleibt nach der Hilfswelle? Wie wird das Engagement der Bürgerinnen und Bürger in zwei oder drei Monaten aussehen, wenn die erste Euphorie verflogen ist? Was passiert eigentlich mit den Geflüchteten, die man bei der praktischen Arbeit kennen gelernt hat und die aufgrund der aktuellen Gesetzeslage nicht in diesem Land bleiben dürfen? Denn noch während die Bundesregierung sich für die Willkommenskultur ihrer Bürgerinnen und Bürger loben lässt, wird im Innenministerium mit Hochdruck an den nächsten Bleiberechtsverschärfungen gebastelt – mit fatalen Folgen für die Schutzsuchenden. Auf politischer Ebene heißt es eben gar nicht #refugeeswelcome, dort setzt man nach wie vor auf Abschreckung, Abschiebung und Abschottung, um der Flüchtlingsströme Herr zu werden. Wir wollen an diesem Abend darüber sprechen, wie praktische Hilfe und politische Arbeit zusammenkommen können und ganz konkreten Fragen nachgehen:

→ Was fordert der selbstbestimmten Protest der Refugeebewegung und wie kann man ihn unterstützen?
→ Wie kann man sich gemeinsam politisch engagieren und organisieren?
→ Was können wir für eine neue Flüchtlingspolitik tun?
→ Was sind eigentlich die wirklichen Fluchtursachen und wie können wir sie bekämpfen?

Es diskutieren Christiane Beckmann von Moabit hilft, Napuli Langa vom Refugee Movement Oranienplatz, Vertreter_innen vom Bündnis für bedingungsloses Bleiberecht u.a.

We are refugee activists and supporters from Berlin (Oranienplatz protest, occupied Ohlauer School).
In April/May we want to do a bus tour through Germany.

We plan to travel in three vans (20 people max.) and go to a different place every day.

On the tour we want to connect with

– Refugee and migrant collectives
– Anti-fascist & anti-racist groups
– Refugees Welcome groups
– People in Lagers

We want to talk about:

– The situation of refugees in your area.
– Your political strategies. What do you do?
– What has happened in your area over the last years?
– How is your connection to people inside/outside the Lagers?
– What are your major problems right now (personal/political)?
– How do politicians, news and neighbors react?
– Can we develop a common strategy against new asylum law restrictions, Lagers and deportation?

We want to know your answers and tell you about the last three years in Berlin.

protestcamp on Theaterplatz, Dresden: Declaration of the non-citizens of the „refugee struggle Dresden“

Why we put up the protest camp at Theaterplatz, Dresden:

Dresden’s protest camp is sure that Saxony’s government does not want to take any responsibility towards the non-citizens’ situation. That is why we decided to bring our protest to the streets and demonstrate here.

We believe that Saxony’s government had enough information and time to analyse the non-citizens problems and choose the best reaction.

We, non-citizens are convinced to object this situation and want the government to accept our demands for equal rights with citizens

These are some of the problems that made us come to the streets:

deportations
no equal rights to choose a job
no right to choose our own residence place and obligation to live in the lagers in cities or villages we did not choose
no right to an equal health insurance and „Krankenscheine“
no language courses for everyone from the beginning and no opportunity for further education
intransparent rules for the procedures of the BAMF (interviews, court times, negative answers)

Summary: no possibility to take decisions for our lives as human beings

Erklärung der Non-Citizens des „Refugee Struggle Dresden“ zum Protestcamp auf dem Theaterplatz:

Warum wir das Protestcamp auf dem Theaterplatz errichtet haben:

Das Protestcamp „Refugee Struggle Dresden“ ist sich sicher, dass die Sächsische Regierung keine Verantwortung für die Situation der Non-Citizens (Geflüchtete ohne Bürgerrechte) übernimmt. Deshalb haben wir Protestierenden uns entschlossen, ihren Protest auf die Straße zu tragen und hier zu demonstrieren.

Die Protestierenden sind sich sicher, dass die Sächsische Regierung genug Informationen und Zeit hatte, um die Situation der Non-Citizens zu analysieren und die richtigen Schritte einzuleiten.

Wir, die Non-Citizens sind überzeugt, uns dieser Situation zu widersetzen und wollen, dass die Regierung unsere Forderungen umsetzt. Dies sind einige Punkte, aufgrund derer wir auf die Straße gehen:

Abschiebungen
kein gleiches Recht zu arbeiten
kein Recht den eigenen Wohnort auszuwählen und Zwang, in den Lagern (Heimen) in Städten und Dörfern zu leben, die wir nicht gewählt haben
Keine gleiche Gesundheitsversorgung und die Aufrechterhaltung des Krankenscheinsystems
Keine Sprachkurse für alle von Beginn an und kein Recht auf Bildung an Schulen und Universitäten
Intransparente Regelungen für die Prozesse des BAMF in Bezug auf Anhörungen und Verfahrensfristen

Zusammenfassend: Als Menschen dürfen wir keine Entscheidungen für unser eigenes Leben treffen.

call for translators

Refugee Strike Berlin is looking for people who can translate!!!

Dear all,

to give everyone from and around the Refugee Protest access to
informations and discussions, and because everyone should have have the
possibility to express oneself in a language s_he feels comfortable in, we
want to build up a reliable translation structure.

Therefore we need people who can translate written (statements, reports,
pressreleases, flyer,…) or/and verbally (meetings, discussion events,
press conferences, demos and actions,…) every now and then or regularly.

languages: Arabic(!), French, Turkish, Urdu, Farsi, Romanian, English,
German, Serbo-Croatian, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Kurdish, Hausa…

If you want to participate in the translation group or have any
questions, please write to: translationsAATTriseup.net
Also let us know, if you can translate verbally or written, and in what
kind of setting. (eg. in meetings, but preferably not in an event in
front of 1000 people; only on weekends,…)
Of the more flexible ones amongst you, it would be very useful to have a
phone number also, because we sometimes need translations quite
spontanously. The numbers as well as the email addresses will stay
exclusively with the coordination group.

Are you part of an already existing translation structure, please think about
if and how we could cooperate.

haben, da wir oft auch ziemlich spontan Übersetzungen brauchen. Nummern
