Germany based Nigerian activist, Rex Osa of the Voice Refugee Forum shed light on the harsh treatment Nigerian refugees and asylum seekers face in Germany and the little help the Nigerian Embassy in Germany provides. “Deportation we know is the culture in Germany,” explained Osa. He described the deplorable living conditions of refugees in Germany and the restrictions put on those with the status. “As a refugee in Germany you are not allowed to go outside your district. If you are by chance caught outside you are penalized,” said Osa, who accused the Nigerian Embassy in Germany of being involved in a “deportation scheme.”

Gerichtsprozess gegen Aktivist_innen wegen der Besetzung der Nigerianischen Botschaft im Oktober 2012

Dies ist keine Verteidigung. Es ist die Verurteilung eines Gerichts.

Bevor ich mit Ihnen einige Informationen teile, möchte ich mich an das Gericht wenden, das mich als Herr Mahdiye Tayefeh Kalhori anschreibt. Ist das nicht ein Zeichen, dass das Gericht nicht ausreichende und richtige Informationen in der Sache verfügt? Wenn das Geschlecht nicht bekannt ist, werde ich dann automatisch als Mann eingestuft? Ist das nicht eine sexistische und patriarchale Sicht?

Damit das Gericht eine klare Sicht bekommt, möchte ich nun bezüglich der Protestaktion in der nigerianischen Botschaft einige Informationen hier öffentlich mit Ihnen teilen. Die Protestaktion vom Oktober 2012 [1]richtete sich gegen die Abschiebeanhörungen, die im normalen Sprachgebrauch auch als Botschaftsanhörungen bezeichnet werden, damit das Verbrechen der Abschiebung nicht benannt wird.
