Demo against Asylum Law Package II on Feb 16th

deutsch unten – francais en bas – TürkSrpskohrvatski  – فارسی– اردو – العربية

Gegen Asylrechtsverschärfungen!

No to even tighter laws! Yes to solidarity! Photo: Yusuf Beyazit

16th February 2016 at 6pm
start at LaGeSo (Turmstraße 21, 10559 Berlin) to Bundestag

In the next days the parliament will vote on a new law. This racist law is directed aggressively against refugees.

They Asylum Package II includes:
• “Special reception camps” for people from “secure” countries of origin, or people who are accused to have destroyed their documents, will be opened. In these camps the asylum procedure should be completed in three weeks with the aim to deport people faster.
• People coming from a country where there is war and who have the status of ‘Subsidiary Protection’ shall not be allowed to bring their family from abroad during the first two years of their stay.
• Deportations of people who are sick will be easier. Illnesses that people had already before they came to Germany will not be an obstacle to deportations anymore.
• Algeria, Tunesia and Marokko shall be declared as secure countries of origin in order to deport people more easily.

This Asylum Package II is an act of isolationist politics and division!
Let us not be played off against each other! Let’s get on the streets and be loud against these racist laws, against the violence of camp security and against the Lagers!

For the right to stay and the right to family for everyone!

Solidarity is: resistance!!

Press release by Roma Thüringen concerning the group deportation of December 16, 2015 – Every deportation is a crime

Every deportation is a crime!

Roma thüringenFor several weeks, mass deportations of Romanies and other refugees from so-called ’safe countries of origin‘ have been taking place. The fact that these countries are not safe, in particular for Romanies and other minorities, which been proven by Romany organisation as well as other NGOs many times. Even the notification of a violent abduction to other countries that people have fled from is a threat to their very existence. This holds true all the more for the actual execution of such a violent deportation by the German police. Every deportation is a crime and not tolerable.

In the following, we will report on the deportation of December 16 of several Romany families from Erfurt to Belgrade / Serbia. We received these information from those affected themselves and are in contact with them.

Torture and other Abuses: Turkey, the War in Syria, and the Role of Germany

“Turkish political prisoner and torture victim, in Germany now, faces life in prison if he returns to Turkey, but Germany considers him a terrorist not entitled to asylum based on a Turkish conviction related to torture — torture that bars Germany from deporting him.

Turgay Ulu Statement

Turgay Ulu

On the topic of torture the nation of Turkey could teach some gruesome techniques to ISIS, the terrorist movement executing a savage reign across Syria and beyond (reportedly with Turkish government support).

That reality of brutality in Turkey – another problematic American ally – is a fact known all too well by Turgay Ulu, a Turkish journalist who endured a 15-year imprisonment in Turkey, where he was tortured. During Ulu’s long imprisonment, Turkish authorities justified his conviction on their claim that they had evidence against him –- evidence authorities obtained from two other victims of torture.

“I was tortured with electroshocks,” Ulu said during an interview earlier this year in Berlin, Germany where he is a leading figure in a movement for refugee rights. Ulu’s long imprisonment in Turkey led many, including Amnesty International, to consider him a political prisoner. Ulu was released from a Turkish prison in 2011 and he immediately fled to Europe.”

FREE HIKMET!!! NO DEPORTATIONS! Donations for Legal Costs Needed!

Alle bleiben Freiheit für Hikmet Roma

Hikmet bleibt!

On October 9, 2015, our brother and friend HikmetPrizreni was arrested and he is threatened with deportation!

On that day Hikmet, accompanied by his brother Kefaet, went on an official visit to the Immigration Authority. The Clerk asked Kefaet to wait outside and secretly called the police. Hikmet was then arrested by the police on the basis of an invalid/void arrest warrant. In lightning speed, Hikmet was before the Judge and then taken to detention prison awaiting trial.

Because Hikmet’s status was ‘toleration’ (Duldung) he is now threatened with deportation to Kosovo. A country Hikmet does not know, and in which he, and as Roma, faces discrimination and violence.

Hikmet is also known to many as the artist Prince-H. He thrilled audiences with his energy and musical talent and often performed at cultural events and concerts for human rights. We know him as a creative, humorous, non-conformist who put his art in the service of living peacefully together, without discrimination or exclusion of other cultures.

We need your help! The cost of the competent lawyer are high. Hikmet needs in this situation a good legal advice and this costs money. Any help and any small amount is important! Please share this Donation call, asking friends and acquaintances. Many thanks!

alle bleiben! uploaded a new video: “FREIHEIT und Bleiberecht für HIKMET

WE WILL RISE gives a space for reflection for the people of the refugee movement aswell as an exchange with people who are not (yet) part of the movement. It is a growing exhibition and archive. It focusses especially on the time since the tent actions and the protest march from Würzburg to Berlin, the protest camp on Oranienplatz and the squatting of Ohlauer school. It has the aim to make history visible and accessible and to use it for the present and the future. The exhibition and archive is just a beginning. It can only grow if you take part in it and add what is important to you. We want to struggle together with you for a permanent place for this work.

International Day of Action against Detention Centres, June 15th, 15-20h at Airport Tegel – STOP DEPORTATION!

15h: Info for practical interventions, spreading flyers/ Info für praktische Intervention, Flyer verteilen

17h: manifestation in front of the airport/ Kundgebung vor dem Flughafen

deutsch unten

For June 15th, the Spanish campaign against detention centres and deportations „Dia contra los CIE“ is calling for an international day of actions. Therefore we call for different decentral actions – especially with regard to the intended tightening of the asylum law!

The law criminalizes refugees and constructs reasons for imprisoning people under threat of deportation. It shall serve to legitimate deportation prisons and to re-fill them. Meanwhile, the lobby and industry for detention centres, imprisonment and collective „Lagers“ is looking forward to further profits. That’s why these actions shall make visible the deportations which are carried out from airports in Berlin on a daily basis. The actions should create a platform for a faster exchange of information, better cooperation and mobilisation in case of emergency, as well as make existing structures more effective. Even if the date for a deportation is fixed, the legal possibilities for actions and legitimate measures are usually not exhausted yet.
